BillQuick 2005 Is Coming!

You spoke, we listened. That's the way it works at BQE Software. We don't just talk the talk, we walk the walk.

BillQuick 2005 has leapt its first major development hurdles and is well on the way to a Spring 2005 delivery. Along with upgraded add-on modules, also slated for release in the Spring, BillQuick 2005 will include user interface improvements, new reports, new . . .huh?

The boss says not to be specific. Something about Murphy may be listening and thinking up a new law to snap us with.

(Psst. Psst. Stay tuned. We'll sneak in a few items next month. Okay? Don't let the boss know.)

How much does the upgrade cost?

Typically, 10% to 30% off list price. Your discount depends on when you purchase the upgrade.

What's the best deal? 55% off. It is reserved for users who purchase Gold Support contracts for BillQuick and add-on modules. In addition receiving unlimited telephone and email supports, they pre-purchase the next year's upgrade for BillQuick and/or any modules covered by the contract at a 55% discount.

Already got a Priority Support contract? Then upgrade to Gold and get the same deal.

Beta Testers Wanted

Monthly BillQuick Quizzer
Win $50!

It's time for. . .BillQuick Quizzer! (Cheers, cheers, cheers.)

Last month the question stumped all our contestants except one. Steve Donaldson at Steve Donaldson Consulting broke through and raced across the finish line. He stands alone, high above us mere mortals.

Now on to this month's question -- a challenge for superior minds using BillQuick.

Remember, only the first 10 BillQuick users to email the correct answer to BQ-Quiz@bqe.com win $50 in BillQuick Bucks! Winnings can be applied to any BQE Software product or service. Date-time stamps on received emails determine the winners.

Here we go. The question is. . .

During the month of January 2005, Employee "CJ" charges 20 billable hours to Project XYZ:Upgrade. The hours are spread across 4 activity codes. In addition, CJ charged the same project with 5 hours to the Client Conference activity code, but marked them "non-billable."

Based on this scenario, which of the following statements is correct?

A.  The billing record on the Billing Review screen shows "20 hours."

B.  The billing record on the Billing Review screen shows "25 hours."

C.  The Time Detail dialog shows 4 billable time entries and 1 non-billable entry.

D.  The average bill rate is based on the full 25 hours.

E.  A and C are true.

F.  B and D are true.

G.  A and D are true.

H.  B and C are true.

I.  None of the statements are true.

J.  All of the statements are true.

Hurry and send your answer to BQ-Quiz@bqe.com. You could be a winner!

Support Tips

1.  Turn off the Last 5 Reports on users' Navigator screens.

Often BillQuick Administrators set user security permissions for reports after the system has run for a time. BillQuick automatically tracks the last 5 reports a user prints, listing them on the Navigator screen. Even if you deny permission to all or selected reports, the ones listed on the Navigator screen remain accessible to users unless you deactivate this feature.

To turn off the Last 5 Reports on user Navigator screens:

  • Log into BillQuick as "Supervisor".
  • Open the Security screen by selecting Security from File menu.
  • Select the User for whom you want to turn off the Last 5 Reports feature.
  • Scan down to the left column to the Standard Reports category.
  • Uncheck the Recent Reports permission.
  • Click Save.

2.  Security and BillQuick Add-Ons

When you install and run BillQuick add-ons such Agent Pro, Web i, BillQuick Palm and BillQuick CE, security in BillQuick must be turned on. To turn on security:

  • Log into BillQuick as "Supervisor".
  • Open the Security screen by selecting Security from File menu.
  • Select "Supervisor" from the employee drop-down list.
  • The Security On checkbox displays. Check the box to turn BillQuick's security on.
  • Click Save.
  • Install your BillQuick add-on modules.
