Late Fee Calculations in BillQuick
2003
Previous BillQuick versions calculated and reported late fees as of the
current date. In BillQuick 2003 (version 4.0), the method changed and incorporates
date-stamping the late fee amount. Another recent change (version 4.0.180) increased
flexibility by calculating late fees based on the date set on the Invoice Review screen.
Previous BillQuick 2003 versions always reported late fees as of the current date.
Let's look at this situation through an example. Say Invoice 1005 was
generated for Project 97-056 on January 1, 2003. Late charges of 1.5% per month will be
assessed after a 45-day grace period.
On February 15, 2003, the 45th day after the invoice was generated, you are
still in the grace period. Thus, the Late Fee is $0.00. On the 46th day, February 16, the
Late Fee is $23.00. You would calculate the late fee on the Invoice Review screen by selecting the invoice, marking the
Update Late Fee checkbox, and entering the Based On date. Now, the client owes $1,023.00.
BillQuick calculates the late fee regardless of how many days pass. Also,
partial payments are taken into account when calculating an updated late fee, whether
partial payments were applied to only the invoice amount or were split between the invoice
and late fee amounts.

Calculation (PDF).
TimeKeeper Upgrade
Time is our ally and enemy, fading away at the very moments when
it should be tight to our sides.

BillQuick TimeKeeper
takes tracking time one step further. It allows you to log time using time stamps. No
detailed time entry required. For businesses with employees who punch time cards,
TimeKeeper is a cost-effective, simple alternative to punch card machines.
TimeKeeper
tracks time like Time Entry in BillQuick, yet adds the ability to record start and stop
times for the IN, BREAK and OUT occurrences of an employee in a separate TimeKeeper
database.
Copy and Paste Time, No SuperGlue
Required
Go ahead, flex those biceps. Enjoy the moment.
Only . . . you won't need them this time.
One of BillQuick's powerful, time-saving,
"gee-that-was-easy" features is the ability to copy and paste time entries plus
increment the date.
Say you worked on the same projects this week as
you did last week. Why re-enter time records if the only difference is the date? You could
be racking up more billable hours, or watching your child's baseball game, or working on
your relationship with the spouse, or . . .
BillQuick's Copy function plus its Paste Special
function make recording time no more than a couple blinks of the eye. To use these
features:
(1) Select the time records you want to copy in
the Time Entry (Sheet View), then right-click and select Copy from the menu.
(2) Right-click in a blank row and choose Paste
Special.
(3) On the Paste Special panel, check the
Increment time entry date by box, then enter "7" to increment the date by seven
days.
Try it and be surprised how much time it saves
you. Editing a pre-filled time card is a lot faster than entering time from scratch.
Yes, dare to dream. Another 3 billable hours
this year? Another 7 per employee? A full lunch hour? Rapture!
Move Time Between Projects, No Heavy
Lifting Required
Humans get busy. We focus so
intently at times on the tasks in front of us that we miss little things. Like what
project to record time to. You, as the project manager, notice these faux pas after a
dozen or so entries.
Don't churn the stomach acid. Remember, it's
BillQuick. No problem!
After you remind the errant professionals
working on the project, you can quickly change the Project ID on the time records. Here's
how.
(1) In Time Entry (Sheet View), select View by
Project and the date range to display the time records you want to move.
(2) Click the Select All button, then click on
the Change button.

(3) On the Change panel, mark the Project ID to
checkbox then select the Project you want to move the hours into from the drop-down list.
(4) Click OK.
Ta-Da! Murphy stumbles from the Doors of Hassle
and Frustration once again. BillQuick Change powers through the situation. In addition to
moving the time entries, it automatically recalculates the account totals on both
projects, and reanalyzes the billable/non-billable status of the time
against the Project Rules working behind the scenes for you.
Time Entry's Change is an industrial-strength
feature. It does a lot more than just changing the Project ID on the selected time
records.
